Poland is little known to Western European medievalists. At the present time, there is no centre of medieval studies in Poland with a website of notable interest. Research is dispersed, there are few research centres or thematic research projects and they lack the resources for this kind of publication. It thus seems worthwhile to draw attention, from now on, to the first initiatives in the domain of Polish medieval studies made available on the web.

A commentated list of links for medievalists. This site includes about 700 addresses, divided into 12 sections, 200 of which are in the section concerning ‘Regional Resources’. Quite useful as a condensed guide for the medievalist on the web.

 Staropolska - Old Polish Literature

Put together by the same team as Meliton. The English version makes it possible to find articles and translations of Polish texts ranging from the fourteenth to the sixteenth century, although the Polish version is a lot more detailed.
The section ‘Linki’ (links) lists useful addresses for the medievalist generally in the field of research into the history of Polish literature.

Includes amongst other things the web page of the permanent committee of Polish medievalists with: a list of centres dedicated to the study of the Middle Ages; an address list of Polish medievalists; announcements (Zapowiedzi) of forthcoming events, although this section is very inadequate; and a discussion forum.
